Have your little idea-seeds ever blossomed into great/monstrous/notorious/compelling thread-weeds?

I think the longest-running thread I ever started was the "Posters Gone MIA." I wish the "Intriguing Korean Movies"" thread was still kickin' around. That had some good info and deserves an update or two.

Actually it's a pretty neat thread to lighten things up in light of the E-2 nonsens and a 10 page thread about Korean dudes pounding their girlfriends and others with people washing their hads in light of E-2

Didn't he start one of the longest running threads? I thought he started the freakiest wakgook thread...

I think the winner would be that guy who started the thread (blog?) about St. Andrew's hakwon in Ilsan on the job forum.

Longest thread I ever started went way wrong, so I'm taking the 5th... Embarassed

As far as I know, I started the longest (338 pages) and most monstrous thread : "Alternative Challenges to Evolutionary Theories of Origins" in the Current Events forum: http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?t=59990

Right from the start, it attracted some gungho science types, mostly of an atheistic bent, who have entrenched themselves, armed to their dogteeth with "TalkOrigins" (and other) pre-packaged arguments designed to defeat the enemy: creationists of all stripes (perhaps including God...)

My first big thread was "Why Have So Many Great Thinkers been Vegetarians?" (which I just stumbled across and bumped...) It was also provocative to some (misguided souls...) of course, and it got so heated at one point that the mods pared off several of the most entertaining pages...
http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?t=45720

Another thread I started that was both big and good (like me) is "George Harrison's Spiritual Journey" (which I should have bumped on November 29, commemorating the day he passed away...)

my longest was only 9 pages. since one of the poll choices was about bumping the thread being annoying, i never bumped it. however, i now wish i had added another poll choice.... misinformation: very annoying lately!!!!

I got eleven pages from a thread on the CE forum.

Why doesn't America withdraw from Iraq and then invade again with a clearer set of objectives?

Amazed it got that long.

Sad about the one that only got to be a few pages about things you'd love to do in boring situations. Doing press-ups on a crowded bus, having a boring meeting with your boss and just pulling out a bottle of beer and drinking it in front of them. Or just simply during a mind numbing board meeting removing your clothes, JUST TO SEE IF ANYONE NOTICES and makes it slightly more interesting. I hate boredom of thought, can you tell.

But then again maybe I'm alone on this spur of the moment stuff, you'd never do, kind of thing.

My "Korea is a good place" thread was fun. Helped convince a couple of people to come here - after doing reseach into getting a good job - who are having a great time here at the moment so I'm happy about that.

I started a thread a long time ago in CE about WMDs in Iraq that just went on and on, more than 50 pages, but some zealous mod deleted it after a year or so ...

I'll lay claim to the title of least initiatory poster among the longtimers here. 1700 posts but I've only started a couple dozen threads & I think the longest ran to 2 pages.
