Just for kicks I wanted to see what nonsense Kim Jong-il was putting on his website (pretty amusing stuff) only to find that the ever wise National Police Force of the Democratic People's Republic of South Korea and Leader of Free Speech in Asia has blocked it.
So much for reading Kim's bio....the real one, not the false one that is being spread like venom by the pigs in the south and their yanky dogs..... |

Interesting. And a little bit frightening too. On a similar note, I have also noticed that the The Metropolitician's blog is not accessible from here, (but it is by proxy). Is Internet censorship getting stricter nowadays? |

It's always been strict. Why would the South Korean government want any of their citizens to know anything about North Korea at all? |

I'm just wondering why they bother blocking it? Are people from the south really reading it, getting duped and heading up to visit Little Kim only to be locked up and sent to work on a rat farm somewhere?
seems kinda silly, even for SK. |

Well they've been doing it for decades already. Part of it is because a lot of South Koreans have family up there, and neither government wants them to be able to communicate with each other. |

Kim Jong Il's 'brief' biography is 160 pages long, and Kim Il Sung's is a whopping 2161 pages. |

its been like that for years..but i used to access the dprk official site from the UK no problem.
when i showed korean friends that there were blocked websites in their country, including the official north korean site,at first were shocked and didnt believe me.
i showed them the" blocked "sites when in the uk,and they were in total shock,.about what the north was actually writing about them and their country.
it was v different from what the press here was leading then to believe.there was a whole list of blocked sites from south korea somewhere..it was posted here yrs ago i think, but cant find it now(there seemed to be a about 50sites on there ...maybe its changed in number?)
the content is pretty dull, stalinist style nationalistic writing mixed with pure fantasy.
ie..down with capitalistic USA etc..south koreans are slaves to bush etc, King thiong ill has cured cancer, etc etc

if you think thats silly,in the 1970s here you were not allowed to own or dirve a RED car,as the colour was in the north korean flag, and represented communism.
im not joking,it was actually on the statue books. |
