Hayek? Like Friedman, all he did was repackage the discredited 18th Century economic theory of free markets, the application of which has turned out to be unsurprisingly just as big a failure as the first time round. |

Lemme at him. That you had a choice of airliners to take to Korea and weren't compelled to take Pan Am is kinda evidence against that. |

In this case I was not speaking of Hayek's ideas about how an economy exactly ought to be run but rather his very clear (and historically accurate) description about how a centralized planned economy creates shortages, dysfunction and eventually tyranny.
But I largely agree with his economic ideas too.
Which books of his have you read? |
