I'll have to get a new passport while in korea

how does that effect my visa.
Do I have to get a new one for my new visa, or carry around my old passport?

If I don't how does it work if I want to come back in?

You'll need to carry around the old passport for as long as the visa is current. The visa is what immigration has record of, etc.

When you get your new passport you are required by law to report said change to the immigration office within 2 weeks of the event. IF you are a little late, no worry since you also have an ARC.

When you register your changed passport they will move your re-entry stamp to your new passport. Your visa is no longer relevant because it has been used (unless you are American AND have a multi-entry visa).

There is NO charge for this. Just fill in the application form and tick the box at the top that says change of information.
