Lookin to buy an MP3 player. I'm pretty illiterate when it comes to electronics and was wondering what was a good one to buy.
I heard there is a cheaper version of a sort of iPod?
I currently have a 256 MB MP3 player that gets quite a few laughs, and any help that would put me on the path to technological coolness would be appreciated? (Is there such a thing?) |

Any Korean mp3 player will do, iriver, cowon or samsung. It all depends on your budget and song collection. |

Yes, it's Chinese. Oppo have been an OEM for many big companies. They know what they are doing. In recent years they've developed their own brand.
I bought one of their DVD players and it's impressive for the price. Much better than my old Denon which cost much more.
I haven't been disappointed with the MP3 player either. It just lacks some format capability (Ogg, Flac etc) for music. SQ is great (Wolfson chip inside) If you aren't fussed about OGG / Flac etc, at 120,000 won for 8GB, it is indeed nicely priced. |

I have the Cowon D2 and it's awesome. I'd recommend picking up an 8GB SD card online. I bought my SD card from the states for like $50. |

Additionally, with the D2, there are constantly firmware upgrades. I get my firmware upgrades from iAudiophile. Oh, and the battery life if #1 in the biz, like 52 audio hours and 10 video hours per charge. |
