Hi,

Anyone know any good activities for speaking practice? The student in question is a 5 year old boy. I've never taught anyone that young before, so I don't know where to start.

Thanks in advance.

Take your laptop and a bunch of kids music videos.

Download them from youtube and save them to your computer.
(send me a PM if you need an application to download and save them).

Sing and play with him. Try some simple reading and flash cards as well.

Good link there - cheers for that. I use a Firefox extension for downloading vids, but I can't remember what it's called.
I'm a bit worried that the kid will be too shy to sing with me and his mother will be disappointed with me., but I'll give it a shot anyway.

Yes, icnelly is a god send and a great member on EFL Classroom 2.0.

also try our Elementary page there. Lots of click and play stuff.

One youtube channel I recommend for all kindie teachers is SuperSimpleSongs. He does a great job actually showing how the songs are used in class. Take a look. http://www.youtube.com/user/SuperSimpleSongs

Of course the ultimate kindy song is Eric Hermann's Elephant Song.

Get all his songs and loads of others in our A/V player on EFL Classroom 2.0. Full screen and easy to access....

I haven't had the time but I'll upload hundreds of books for kids shortly into a category. In the meantime see the books here - many in the resource books area or games/practice for ideas / handouts to teach children. http://www.scribd.com/people/documents/1005075
