So today I was notified that I am going to teach a teachers class one day a week. I knew about this before hand but didnt know the exact date when they would start. I then asked what they wanted to learn and they told me just teach them English. So I was wondering if anyone on here could help me out with some ideas on what to teach them. I dont really want to teach them from the text book since its super lame and dont want more people using phrases that no one in the West uses anymore. Thanks for any help.

There is a good book called What do you think? 30 controversial issues.

There are great little stories about abortion, divorce, etc that generally get my teachers classes talking.
