Just wondering if anyone has taught in Gwanak, and if so what was your experience like? I want to be in or around Seoul but I don't necessarily want to right in the thick of things.

Interested in everything from nightlife and any western culture to the schools and the locals. Any help is much appreciated.

Gwanak is a mountain on the southern edge of Seoul, and is also surrounded by Gwacheon, Anyang, and possibly one or two other satellite cities. Think you can be more specific?

From Wikipedia - Gwanak District, or Gwanak-gu is an administrative subdivision (gu) of Seoul, South Korea. It lies on southern skirt of Seoul, bordering Seoul and Anyang of Gyeonggi Province. Craggy ridgeline of Mt. Gwanak (Gwanak-san)

I see. Wouldn't have thought of that first. There are some big universities around there, which means there'll be pockets of nightlife. Also the mountain is pretty cool. Good location transportation wise.
