Nothing compared to a thunderstorm on the Indiana plains. Those are furious... |

Thunderbolt of lightning, very very frightening! =D
Every time I hear thunder, I think it's a nuke. I think of that scene in Terminator 2 where Sarah Conner is at the playground and there is a nuclear blast in the city and everyone and everything is wiped away in a matter of seconds. |

Never understood how people are afraid of thunder. It's right up there on my puzzlement list of people being afraid of pigeons. |

Does anyone actually know WHY IT THUNDERS SO RARELY HERE?
I'm from the plains of Texas, and every time it rained in the summer, we got massive thunderstorms and lightning. I loved it, and I miss it.
Here, it seems like there's a big single clasp of thunder once a year! |

I think the main reason is that you come from the thunder storm capital of the world. So pretty much anywhere you went would have less thunder. I don't know that much about the US, but isn't it something about the rocky mountains making a valley in the middle of the US where the cold air comes down and clashes with the hot air. As you might have noticed Korea is a peninsula with a quite different geographic. |
