I have been enjoying the 'Songs That You Despise' thread, not only to see my choices agreed upon, but also to wonder and chuckle at the songs that others loathe, but I rather like.

For example, "We Built This City"....I like it!

"Baba O'Reilly" LOVE it!

And I adore the ENTIRE Queen catalogue. Well, not 'Flash', obviously.

Others?

I go running to bad techno and trance music.
I love 'Piano Man'
I will often sing along, with vigour and an unpretentious lack of talent, to Celine Dion.
I have a shamefully huge collection of Broadway and Old Hollywood musical soundtracks.

Come on! Share your secret songs!

I've always had a bit of a thing for Kylie Minogue. I've always loved Some Kind of Bliss. That could just stem from my deep love of the Manics.

Most of the songs on the K-tel label including "That's the Way I like it"
KC and the Sunshine Band, Hot Chocolate- You Sexy Thing, Love Rollercoaster,

Anything from the Saturday Night Fever LP . I Especially like to strut down the street in Bellbottoms while Jive talking is playing with my hair freshly feathered and smelling of Final net and flipped back with a touch of the curling iron while my polyester shirt collars flop in the wind.

Anything by the Bay City Rollers. I think Johnny Rotten copied them with the spiked hair and the tartan. All Malcolm Maclaren and Vivian Westwood did was grab a pair of Bay City Rollers paints and put multiple zippers in them.

Growing up on a steady diet of Death Metal, moving onto the Grunge, House and Shoegazer scenes, then onto Trance , Experimental and Post-Rock, I blame the following on my mother who used to play this artist while doing the housework.

My naughty 5 year old has taken to softly singing:

"One little two little three little B@$#@%ds
four little five little six little B@$#@%ds..."

when he thinks I am out of earshot. I think it's such an improvement on the original that I pretend not to have overheard him.."

I take AWESOME music very seriously. This list is not based on how good I think these songs are, but instead the level of shame I feel for enjoying them. I absolutely love all these songs and have listened to each of them dozens of times.

10. Frozen Plasma - War/Flashbacks (WAR IS REALLY BAD OK. I think. the lyrics are kind of confusing.) 30 second preview spoiler: 30 seconds of a 7:29 song is not enough to get the full impact of awesome
9. Corey Hart - Don't Take Me to the Racetrack (I'm not the jockey you think you know-oo-woh-oh) another 30 second preview spoiler: it cuts out just when it's getting to the good part!
8. Mya - Case of the Ex (you told me that she turned trick/when yall broke up in 96) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4yp0_MoAlI
7. Beborn Beton - Ambush (got no ammo left but the power of my fists! I could fill the top ten with this band alone. love them.) http://www.last.fm/music/Beborn+Beton/_/Ambush
6. Holly Valance - Tuck Your Shirt In (my name is... Holly) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOFhdoN4ZYw
5. Blutengel - Bloody Pleasures (DON'T BE AFRAID MY DAAHLING) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_G0iS_LVLQU
4. Miley Cyrus - See You Again (she doesn't even make the top 3 in my list of shame) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IbvBMPIq70
3. KansasCali - Do U 2? (this is way cool, I'm borderline fool) http://www.last.fm/music/Kansascali/_/Do+U+2
2. Chante Moore - Straight Up (oh god) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qicdPIn7FAY
1. Lisa Stansfield - Treat me like a woman (*dies*) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOFhdoN4ZYw

Just scratching the surface here.

I love how everyone else is hiding their shame behind youtube links with no explanation in the post. Shocked Shocked Very Happy
