My Hogwan wants to change and add Sat. school once a month for each teacher. They want to cut down on some hours on Mon. Wed. Fri. What do you think? Could this be a bad sign and will other Hogwans follow suit?
I personally don't think that this would be in the best interest of economics, as they would need office staff as well. |

Personally, i think a little change to the hours isn't too bad.
But having to work on a Saturday when it isn't in your contract would not be acceptable to me. But that's just my opinion. |

This is Korea. Give them and inch and they'll take a mile. And another one, and another one, and another and another one,...... continue and repeat. |

It wouldn't really matter to me, 5 days is 5 days. I don't program myself to practice rituals on certain days. |

Korea, learn to compromise and you will do well. They want you to work one Saturday a month, how many hours won't you have to work mon, wed, fri? Can you work in an extra 5 days vacation?
Pick your battles, if it isn't important to you, see what you can get for it. |

If you're happy there and don't mind the changing hours, by all means do it. Make your boss happy and keep that in your back pocket for a later date.
If you don't want to do it, just Calmly and Professionally, show them in your contract that you are not required to work Saturdays. If it becomes an issue to them, just tell them that they are breaching the contract. All Hagwons and owners are different and follow no rhyme or reason.
I guess it all depends on how important that Saturday is to you. |

Agreed. Fight the battle if you want to, don't if you don't.
You might be able to get something out of him in exchange for this. |
