A few friends recently have asked me visa related questions. I don't need to jump through hoops anymore, so I stopped checking to see what the hoops are. I wanted to ask if a couple of things have changed in the last 2 years:

1 - Is an FBI CRC still OK to get a visa?

2 - Can you take the FBI CRC to the Embassy and get an affidavit of truth notarized, and have that work in place of a notary and apostille for the state level CRC?

3 - Is it possible to take your Diploma to the embassy, photo-copy it, make an affidavit swearing it's an original copy, and have the affidavit notarized? (Dunno if this ever worked, just wondering)

1.) yes, it is certainly acceptable.
2) yes, you can still get it done that way.
3) no... apostille on the copy or the original.
