I know that Americans get their pension money back upon completion of a contract with SMOE. Do you know if brits are entitled to it too? If so, how do you go about claiming it? |

No, you don't get it back now. You can get it as part of your pension at 65 if you jump through the necessary hoops. |

No, you don't get it back now. You can get it as part of your pension at 65 if you jump through the necessary hoops. |
This depends on who you talk to at the pensions office. My last email from the head of the international pension centre was a very definite no - nothing we pay here will "count" towards our UK pension. It's dead money people. We can pay voluntary contributions to the UK but we still have to pay here. |

Sorry, I should have clarified. It is possible, or so I believe, to claim the pension in Korea when you reach 65 (or thereabouts). You're right in regards to who you speak to in the UK pension office. |
