In public school you have to exchange your shoes for sandals upon entering.

What is the shoe situation like at hagwons?

sometimes you must remove shoes, sometimes not. I've noticed it (removing shoes) more at kindergartens. but i think it just depends on the school and how it is set up.

sometimes. might bring a comfortable pair of warm slippers for the winter if you're coming in. if you ask the recruiter to ask your school, you may, or may not get a straight answer as to how your school functions.

^^^What he said, it's more common at the kindies. Which sucks for me, as I wear US size 15. I can't find slippers anywhere in this country, and have been teaching in my socks for the last year.

Can't you just wear shoes you only put on indoors? If so, you can probably find some shoes that fit you in Seoul, or on the Internet.
