What are you trying to connect the PS3 to the TV with, HDMI? |

no there is no hdmi hook up in the back of the tv, I am using the ps3 cables, I just hooked up the dvd player in my room to the tv and that worked but when I put the cables in the same input jacks, nothing. |

You might have to buy a cheap flat HDTV with your first paycheck then, like I had to. The nasty 20 year old CRT TV/video player combo that the school provided literally just had a aerial socket on the back, nothing else. |

Try holding down the on button until you hear 2 beeps. That should reset the PS3's output to work with the standard a/v cables. |

one more question, should I run the voltage converter on high or low. When i run it on high the converter it makes a humming noise and gets a little hot, I havent tried it on low, should I? |

you dont actually need the voltage converter because there is a transformer built into the system itself. Just like a common laptop all you need is a plug converter. I have mine running just fine without a converter. |

And you can actually just buy a Korean power cord and it'll work just fine. One end will fit the PS3 and the other will fit a Korean wall socket. You should be able to pick one up at HomePlus/Emart type place or a copy shop like Alpha. |
