friend of mine keeps asking and since I havent gotten them done in years I have no clue I'm wondering how do you go about getting fingerprints done for an FBI check in Korea? Can you d/l the FBI form and print it on A4 paper? What police stations do it can the one in Itaewon do it? Permits and ID's on base is now out as they dont do it for non USFK people

thanks

Printed on regular A4 paper in the office, took to small neighborhood police station, made two copies. Mailed in and a month later results came back successfully.

Actually, I first went to a large station with a CSI dept, but was told to go back to my local "dong" station.

Don't go to Itaewon. I got it done there, but they gave us a hard time. Might not have done it if I didn't have a Korean speaker with me.

Go to your local police station.

That is what they said and asked me to put a note up about that on the internet page that had told me about the Itaewon location.

I was 50/50 on whether to be annoyed with them or not. If they had looked the least bit busy, I would have understood easily....

Go to one of the bigger police stations to get fingerprints done. Think more gu and less dong. Small ones will just likely go no.

Get two or more of the sheets done. The only thing that can make your life worse is waiting for a few months for a CRC and been refused because of smudges.

I would consider getting the FBI card printed out on special card stock if you can. Some of the printer paper can be difficult and smudgy. Any good stationary store should be able to print on standard card stock.

Plus hagwonguy this has been discussed before. Google is your friend.

I got them done at the city's CSI, no problem, no Korean helper. My Korean isn't great, but it's passable. This was Anyang, so the same may not apply to smaller cities or stations, but I just showed them the form and they knew what I wanted; they actually had copies of it already there. I've had it done on A4 paper a few times, no problem.

I printed the form off A4 paper from work, went down to Daiso and got some stamp ink and did them suckers myself. I believe I sent in 3 sheets. Was a little worried they would be rejected but they weren't and I was sent my FBI check results 7 weeks later.

I would not recommend doing this however lol.

do it yourself.

print the form, get an ink pad (black) from the store and do it. Practice a few times, send a few copies in, no trouble. that's what i did, but i've been printed before and knew how to do it/what to look for. read online and it's pretty simple.

About two blocks from Insadong there's a large police station that will do it, no problems. It's not on the side with Topgal park and Burger King. Go to the other end of Insadong. To get there, walk through Insadong and turn right. Don't cross the street. You'll pass a Tourist Information booth and a subway exit for Anguk Station. Keep walking for another half block and it's on your right. It's a large complex and you must tell the guard what you want. Do it with a smile, please. They're nice people.

If you walk out exit 6 of Anguk Station you will also be there. Anguk Station is on the #3 line.
