Useless and not practical.

1. Time. Things change to often
2. Subjective. I like Apple Tree says one poster. I hate Apple Tree says another posters. Same for schools
3. Too many schools, to do. Plus recruiters change all the time too.
4. Not everyone will post. List will languish, people ignore.
5. Do your own work!
6. Libel laws.

Also, managers or head English teachers change during your contract period. The first one might be nice and make agreements with you, while the replacement comes in and makes up their own rules ignoring not only your contract but things established between you and the previous person.

Even if you get a good school to start with, it can go sour fast.

Well I have a friend who believes her current job with SLP is great. Well numerous threads here on Dave's plus other numerous people here despise it. SLP is known for being as Slave Labour Program.

Your quip of people can believe what they want, will negate the use of any white/black list. What one person believes can be complete opposite from another. So anything added to a list of good can also be believed as bad. As I said subjective. If I was really evil, I would start recommending any and all bad schools.

Maybe a sticky list for recruiters would be good and quasi-practical. Not as many recruiters as schools. Plus recruiters do not change as much.
Once again, recruiters can be very subjective. You have paperwork ready, recruiter experience will be nice a pleasant. You have problems with papers or age or race. Sorry recruiter experience will be difficult (Lately with the job market as it is no bad/good experience at all. As they will ignore you).

Yet a recruiter list would last two days before Dave Sperling would delete it. Yep, lets keep up a nice sticky of rating of recruiters who buy advertisements on this site. Do you think that recruiter who spends good money will pay for a place that bad mouths them too. Any white list will also include bad things about a recruiter too. Not all recruiter recommendation threads get deleted as they tend to fade away. A stickied one WOULD be deleted. I would not blame Dave for deleting it. That money keeps this site running.

I did post some useful info. Your request for a sticky which would not really serve a valuable purpose as it is not practical.

Plus a touch arrogant to request a sticky from someone who joined 1 day ago, with 2 posts!

As to moving on - no.

More later. Got to go!

A sticky about the nature and how to use recruiters would serve a better purpose. Even a thread about how to research a school would be better.

The amazing thing is those threads already exist. Have you checked out the FAQs. Yes some of the info is dated, but it is filled with some good advice.

Plus just searching. Yea it is a little tricky. Use google and the word site:forums.eslcafe.com "RECRUITER/SCHOOL NAME"

You might come up with some info about said recruiter or school.

I found the best option is the search feature and google. I was able to find info on various recruiters that way. If there is nothing on google or these forums at all, then just take normal precautions. At least that is what I am doing right now.
