I will stay because I am far enough south. But I wouldn't be going anywheres near Seoul, Gyeong-gi do, Daejeon, Daegu, etc. Think it's best if you stay home or teach in another country, like China or Vietnam. Another blog here states better reasons why danger may be imminent. I'm usually one to shrug these things off. But having heard from US personnel myself, you'd be best avoiding things for several months. If I weren't already here and set up, I'd prob reconsider coming over myself. But, best of luck whatever you decide.

Agreed Very Happy

Newbies should not come here. Even better i'd like to see others leave their jobs and go home within the next few weeks. (I'd like things to be like they were before the big influx a few years ago Smile )

Psf... selfish propagandizing.

Don't listen to this Canuckery. If anything goes down, people in Seoul will have good seats to watch the big boys torch those fools up north.

Yeah warn others to stay away right? And the US personnel MUST be 100% accurate. Just so you know if something happens if youre so far south id have a guess to as you being near busan or gwangju and being those are bigger areas have just as much a chance as being hit as seoul or else where. The north declared their "war" against the US and S. Korea so there would be more targets that just locations you stated. Aish seriously, get a damn clue.

Of course this is considering that the north will even make a move.

People are being led to believe that NK is the aggressor by the Western media, but I doubt this could be further from the truth. First, how much military power does NK even have? They don't even have military aircraft. Are we led to believe that they'll use all their armaments blowing up South Korea just to leave themselves defenseless immediately after? Sure they have more military personal than the South, but other than bumrushing the DMZ, they really don't have much for options.

It's much more probable that the US has finally had enough and is going to take control of the North as they did with the South after the Korea War. Fresh sanctions and drone exercises are a good indicator of this. The news is always eager to make a headline story anytime NK claims that they will defend themselves, but I will not be persuaded into thinking the North is leading the saber-rattling that's been going on.

Seriously? Rolling Eyes Do you really think that the US would attack NK without China's and Russia's agreement? So, it's American media's fault and the US government's fault for starting the saber-rattling when NK tested nukes several times? Has NK not always said that they would love to take over the South who has betrayed their true country?

On another note, if you are into the conspiracy stuff, why would the US attack NK? They don't have any oil to take anyways. Seems like a waste of time and money right?

In the past, I would have laughed it off. This is the first time, I'm more cautious. Scroll down and read the warning from the intelligence analyst. Also, had heard from someone who knows someone, the urgency of getting out or getting away from the border, at least.

There are chances of missles falling anywhere, even down south. But there's more of a chance of having most of them fall up North (Seoul and area). As far as troops, perhaps they could make it through to Seoul and Gyeong-gi area, even down near Daejeon. I would suspect every white person would be shot on the spot by Nork troops as a capitalist dirty foriegner polluting the pure Korean race. You'd have to hide inside and hope a missle doesn't hit you. Being further south lowers the likelyhood of running into North troops, though there may be spies anywheres. Who knows? As I've said, I got to much going on to leave and am far enough away from things. But as a newbie, stay away if you're smart.

Lil Kim's just stomping his feet around and trying to establish some cred with his own crew. Unless he's a total idiot, wants to commit suicide, and have his country no longer exist within a matter of hours, he's not going to do anything really significant.

North korea doesnt have war planes??? they can have anything the Chinese want them to have including SU 27 flankers.

North Korea has more than triple the number of military aircraft as South Korea.

South Korea's air force:
Quote:
The ROKAF has about 500 combat aircraft

North Korea's air force:
Quote:
between 1,600 and 1,700 aircraft of different types

Sorry dudes, it's either head to China and deal with pig-water and bird flu 2.0, or take my chances with nuclear Korea. Hope yall are still there in the Fall!

You do realize that most of their aircraft are 3rd generation tech stuff like MIG-21s and MIG-23s, right? The highest quality aircraft they have are 40 MIG-29 Fulcrums that they keep around Pyongyang.

Aerospace technology has reached a point where numbers don't mean much. F-22s can engage up to 6-8 targets at a time with their onboard computers.
