Hello everyone,
I have a friend who is planning on coming to Korea in the fall. He wants to work at a hagwon that provides housing as well as do part-time teaching during his free time at a different hagwon. Is this possible, or are there contractual obligations which do not allow this? Any answers would be appreciated.
Thank you.
EDIT: Also I wanted to add that he may be eligible for an F4 visa, but this is uncertain at the moment. |

It would have to be OK'ed by Korean Immigration and the School that sponsored your visa. Do they even do that, I don't know? Otherwise on an E-2 visa it's illegal and if caught you'll be deported. |

Thanks for the reply.
So it's 100% impossible on an E2 visa but there might be a possibility with an F4? |

Its certainly possible on an E2.
The original hagwon owner/sponsor has to be onside & willing to report this to immigration (but many expressly forbid it in their contracts) & the additional hours & total pay need to be less than the primary sponsor's. Then immigration determines if its okay, but if everything's in order, shouldnt be a problem. |

Oh I see. So the key then would be to find a reasonable hagwon that is nice enough to let him work at another place.
Thanks for the reply |
