Ok, my apartment was broken into last month resulting in the loss of my cell phone and a couple cheap items. What was strange about the burglary is the burglar cleaned my bathroom and locked the door on the way out.

Instead of getting the keypad lock I had thought about getting, I instead installed Yawcam onto my laptop and had pointed it at my door so I could bust the culprit on camera. I have been getting lazy with my Yawcam lately and have mostly not been using it. Tonight, I regret that.

I was cleaning my apartment tonight and actually started with the bathroom. There are some pink rubber gloves that have been hanging up on the wall that I have used the whole time I have lived here. I've used them probably 20+ times in the past 14 months. The previous tenant was my female boss, so I can barely get my hand into the gloves because they're so small, and I can't get into the hand area, and getting my fingers into the finger areas is totally out of the question. But the forearm area is so long they give enough coverage, so I just use them because I'm too cheap to buy a new pair.

So tonight I reached for the pink rubber gloves, and I started putting my hand in, anticipating the struggle to push and squeeze my hand into them as far as I could, but the glove slipped right on, a perfect fit. They're the same color, but they fit. The hand area is bigger and the forearm area is shorter. So I know someone has been in my apartment within the past couple of weeks and it has to be a male. I went ahead and started cleaning and cleaned my whole bathroom and when I pulled off the glove, there was brown stuff on my hand. I was thinking, "Oh no, I hope that isn't what I think it is." I smelled of my hand and it was. Someone had put do-do into the glove! It takes such a mentally sick individual to do something like that, and I don't know who it is or the motive. I just know I've got to move out of here.

This sounds like another " I towel-snapped a dude in the sauna" thread.

Hope this one turns out as epic as that one~

I wish I was making it up. The last time I reported it to the cops, they came and talked while a female interpreted on their cell phone. They talked to my boss and landlady and my boss says the cops determined there wasn't a burglary. Rolling Eyes

I'm going to call them and report it in just a few minutes.

When I go to work today, I guess I'll take the gloves to my boss so she can she the gloves aren't the same ones she left there when I moved in.

I wish you better luck than I had when I tried to call the cops. The asshole on the other line simply hung up on me when we reached 'I don't speak Korean' point.

The last time, the lady on the phone was really nice. She said Opo doesn't have its own police force, so some cops came from somewhere else after a couple of hours.

The cops came and took a report. They were really nice guys. We went outside to the trash bag and they took pictures of the gloves. They want me to go to their office on Tuesday and talk with them through an interpreter.

If this is for real, are you saying someone actually took a dump in your rubber cleaning gloves? Could an Ex who hates you have done something like this?

It's not an ex. I have a key, my landlady has a key, my boss has a key, and I'm not sure who else has one, but I know there aren't any exes who do.

They weren't my gloves. They were a decoy pair someone brought in! Laughing

My current hypothesis is the landlady goes into apartments and checks things out and cleans the bathrooms if she feels they need it. Since these gloves were shorter than the others, I'm guessing (hoping) the do-do got into the gloves as she was making her rounds cleaning toilets when she reached her hand too deep in the toilet water, and she hung them up in my bathroom. I'm on the bottom floor near the elevator, so maybe she started from the top of the building and worked her way down, with mine being the final apartment. Most apartments on my floor have those keypad locks, because I hear the beeping as people get home. I'm not sure how many don't have them, but she probably goes in all of them that don't have one.

If someone was trying to be malicious, it seems like they would break my laptop, cut my clothing to ribbons, etc. The bathroom thing seems like someone is trying to do a good deed but doesn't know how to go about it. The bathroom wasn't really that bad to begin with, just the corner behind the toilet, where the electrical socket is and the plunger handle were moldy. I've been pretty good about cleaning everything else.

That still doesn't explain the stolen cell phone though. I thought for sure that was my boss being nosey and pocketed it once she saw the call history to the pension office, labor board, etc. But I've been focusing on Wonderland, my previous employer, anyway. Or maybe she was afraid I was going to change jobs and didn't want recruiters or schools to have a way to call me.

It's all so strange and crazy. Maybe it'll make for a funny story for my nephews someday when we're snowed in and playing cards or Monopoly.

Yawcam is excellent, actually. It detects motion and takes photos and videos. I just got lazy and let my guard down after a while. I blew it.
