So according to a recent piece in the Korea Times, it would seem as if a growing number of Koreans are starting to feel as if the sexiness factor, especially with female Kpop groups is getting out of hand:

After reading the piece, I feel I agree. It infuriates me to no end that the management of these young, innocent female entertainers pollute their Korean innocence by pushing them to dress in a provocative manner and dance in excessively suggestive ways.

We should appreciate these young women for their beautiful characters, their intelligence, their strong sense of independence, their work ethic, their commitment to a demanding physical fitness regimen, their critical thinking skills, and their ability to score well on college entrance exams, and their ability to express the beauty of the Korean people, free from the need for plastic surgery enhancement.

How can Kpop lay claim to spreading the soft-power of Korea if they will not allow young and innocent Korean female entertainers to wear hanbok when performing? I hate the way these management companies force the young female entertainers to wear Western influenced outfits and clothes.

It boils my blood to think that these young and innocent girls are looked upon with lust by foreign men who might get the wrong ideas about the purity of Korea and its people.

If Kpop continues to excessively focus on the sexiness of its entertainers, then young women in Korea will feel excessive pressured to imitate the look of Kpop entertainers and this could greatly magnify the gap between the beauty haves and have-nots, further polarizing Korea and weakening it social fabric!

When third grade classrooms across the nation are mimicking highly commercialized professional pseudo-strippers, yes, it's probably gone too far. There's no meaningful artistry here, it's pure sexuality on display for some easy money.

As for Kpop. Is what it is. Vacuous fun. Fine with me. Sex has always been in music. Shrug.

I suggest any conservative talker (here or anti-sex kpop advocate) go live a week in Brasil, Greece, Argentina, Venezuela, Spain, any Balkan state or Hungary. If you think any of this is over sexy, you need to get laid.
