So I have an older looking, half digital, half dial CTR 5000 thermostat which has seemingly shut itself off on me.

Normally I can see how hot it is in my apartment on the digital screen and can adjust it by turning the dials. I came home from work today and the temperature screen is blank...and it's ridiculously hot in here, like the floors are so hot that I can't stand in the same place for more than a minute.

Is there anything I can do to fix this thing or is the only alternative to have my school send a repairman to my apartment to fix this thing in the morning? I'd like to fix this ASAP before I run up too much of a heating bill!

Thanks. I apologize if this is a really stupid question.

I would definitely tell the school. Heating bills can be outlandish.

If you go to the boiler, just unplug it and turn the valve to turn the gass off.

I'd guess that maybe a fuse has gone in the box maybe? - cheap fix, if so.
