I'm back home now, but on a D-10 visa. Not really getting a lot of love from recruiters/potential employers. I have gotten a job offer, but long days and saturdays. Sounds like a very busy/stressful work as well.
Other offers have been kindy for 9-10 hours/day in less desirable areas.

Even though I'm older than the average ESL teacher I thought having a D-10 and the ability to start on short notice would make it much easier to find a good gig in or around Seoul. So far, seems to not be the case.

I'm thinking of coming back to Korea to look for a job instead of doing it from here.

Anyone been in a similar position? Was it fairly easy to find a decent job while on a d-10 and in country?

Young applicants are preferred over older applicants, but an even bigger factor is females are preferred over males. Older and male without an F-visa makes it really tough to find a job...even for candidates who are "in country".

Out of the country, even with a D10, means you are no different than any other E2 candidate with documents in hand.

Really? I'd say some advantage. Less paperwork for them to switch a D-10 visa to an E-2 than apply for a new one. (About five days faster, too because they don't need to apply for a new visa issuance number.)

From the wrong side of the pond... the only difference is a few working days and the employer still needs to come up with the ticket in.

The advantage of the D10 is being able to remain in the country and so a simple transfer without the need or expense of the visa run.

By being off-shore that advantage is largely gone.
Plus or minus 5 days is neither here nor there for most employers.
