Can this be done at the British embassy or do I have to do it by post (how long does that take?)

Those photos and your application have to be notarised so make sure you know a significant other like a doctor or somesuch...
It takes about four or five working days and be warned, you MUST get your visa/reentry permit etc transferred to the new passport. Once UK passports are invalid, everything in them is too. |

Not that much, I don't think. Last time I did it was a bit less than 90,000 won. |
