A while back I mentioned that I was unable to access CD-RWs I'd brought from home, and someone said it might be 'cause the disk was not closed. now I have some blank disks and want to backup my dying laptop. How do I close a disk once I have it backed up? What else if anything can I do to ensure that my disks can be read by other computers? |

For backup? I don't have any regular backup software, just copy the files onto the disk using Windows explorer or in the case of my photo files, Camedia which came with my camera. |

okay, so you'll be using Windows to burn your CDs then.
That's probably the first thing to change, but I guess that doesn't answer your question.
I don't use Windows to burn so I don't know where the close disk or disk-at-once options are for it. Somebody else will be along shortly who'll know the answer, I can almost guarantee it. |
