that being said, yes they are safe. don't hear about many boeing 737s crashing now do you?

While it has more crashes than any other Boeing model, nearly all the crashes in the dates described in the article were due to weather and other circumstances, and not due to parts mentioned in the article.

Sure they're safe; unless there's say a bomb that's been surreptitiously placed on board OR some shadowy agency deploys GLOBAL HAWK technology to override manual systems, essentially taking control of the aircraft.
