Never been in the situation, Becka. I think it would really depend on if the person looked like someone I'd want to talk to. If not, I would give the standard smile and nod acknowledgement, but sit alone and pretend to be really interested in the side dishes. |

| If it's in my neighborhood, where I live or work, I might strike up a chat. Especially living in a smaller town: that makes a difference. Foreigners are generally less friendly in bigger cities, just like locals. |

I'm usually not the chatty type (although I seem to post here like the Dickens! Must be my wanting to procrastinate).
I won't "reach for my revolver" or otherwise (that IS a metaphor  ), but if he/she strikes up a conversation, I'll give it the ole college try and be civil.
Usually the bloke is a n00b, and I don't have the time for the grand tour or the guy is jaded and I don't feel like hearing an ear-full about this or that jerk k-guy. You can find a jerk k-guy, or whatever, any day of the week, is my opinion. |

Ha ha! Kangnam and I think alike! Seriously if the dude or dudette makes an effort to give me a nod or such I might strike up a a little conversation with them. Too often though its either some guy who's scowling at me cause he views me as competition against his efforts to sack the cute waitress, or some rabid feminist biitch that hates me to begin with cause I'm male and knows I think that the Korean waitress is way prettier than her. |
