My E-2 visa expires like a week before I'm planning to leave (on the ferry to Tainjin). Can anyone think of a reason why this might be problematic? I hear I can go to immigration and get an extension, but if I don't need to, there are infinite better uses of the time... Thanks all. |

The date on your ARC card is the date you must leave by. Not the date in your passport. |

If you and your school go to immigration together to officially cancel the visa, they will give you an "exit order" that gives you up to 2 weeks to leave korea, more than enough time to catch the ferry to China... |

Yeah, that's what I meant by going to immigration. Apparently I can do it without my school. I'm just trying to save those hours. |

No, you can't cancel the Visa without being accompanied by the school. You can easily extend your visa by yourself, though. Fill out a form. I can't remember if there was a fee, tho. |

You can extend it by yourself, but you can't cancel it by yourself.
I did it several times and I was always told to go back and bring a representative from the school. |
