| A friend of mine was wondering why the job market seems slow. I remembered that this time of year is usually a slow for ESL jobs...can anyone remind me why this is? And when do things pick up again? |

It is slow right now. Teachers will see the improve starting in Mid October - November. And then you will start seeing the huge rush in December for Jan/Feb/March starts.
Hagwan years start in Feb/March. Right now is mid session. They do hire all year round so I have no idea why Sept/Oct is always slow. |

Yup. Schools more concerned with teaching the kids they have rather than the teachers they'll be needing in a few weeks. Remember, this is the land of last-second planning! |

No offense, but is your friend keeping statistics or just bummed that he hasn't landed any interviews for jobs?
There are always tremendous job postings for teacher. |
