Had my first encounter getting out of the shower today. Hopefully its my last as well. Cant stand those things.

Do you mean those long legged ones? There was one in the classroom and the kids got so excited I thought it was deadly poisonous or something (never haveing seen the long legged version before). Found it on Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_centipede

They were always in my basement back in the US. Haven't seen any here yet, and I don't want to think about "centipede season." Insects are my number one fear. I saw a "banana spider" at my school and cried for 3 days.

On Monday I found 5 earwigs in my apartment. Those things creep the hell out of me, man.

If you mean those big red and black buggers, I agree. Never did get used to them. AND THEY DO BITE!! The picture in the entry AIN'T them. These are about 6 inches long with only two legs on each segment.
