Kim Jong Il's bodyguards and some mass games footage at the end. I like the extreme, back-in-time quality of the footage.

I really don't get this 'hit me - I'm hard' type of training that the Koreans seem to go for in general.

Why does a bodyguard need to withstand being hit in the face with a bat ?
That's not going to happen in real life. Why do they need to be able to jump out of the way of knifes ? I'd imagine the whole point is that you might have to jump IN the way of a knife.

If I were a head of state, I'd prefer to have some protecting me, who can recontaire a crowd, have some sort of situational awareness and planning, and be smart enough to know that the chances of me being hit by a brick or a flying dagger acutally pale in comparison to a someone bombing me or shooting me with a sniper rifle from 600m.

It's not training, but rather it's just macho bravado that wouldn't be of any use at all in a real situation I'd imagine.

It doesn't matter what training one has or what martial arts they might be good at......a bullet will win every time. Thousands of dead heros over the years could attest to that.

That performance at the end looked very impressive. Wish I could see the whole thing.

Really amazing stuff. Even the mural they have in the background that constantly changes. Just imagine the meticulous planning and coordination that requires. Wow.

It is amazing. The idea that several thousand people are standing there holding up coloured boards to form giant changing pictures boggles the mind. I wish I could see it in person. A trip there is seeming less and less likely lately Sad
