I recently joined. May 31st, 1997, Ulsan. Not all has been in Korea, not all has been in Asia even. Damn I feel old. Gray hairs love me now.

10 years coming up in July, the 19th to be precise. It's amazing how I regard that date in the same category as uni graduation, birthdays, etc.

I don't get it. Ten years of what? The first poster said not all in Korea, not even Asia. So what then?

I came here August 1996.

Good question. First time I came here was March, 1988. Stayed for 2 and 1/2 years. Came back to visit a few times in the 90's and have lived here continuously since July, 2000. So does that mean I've been here 19 years? I think not. More like 10. What's my prize?

Stories, please! Smile
Coming 10 years ago's impressive. Nearly 20 years ago's amazing. What was it like?

First here in 1994....then again in 1996....then 6 years in HK...and now three more here....all that included a couple of years back home...so 11 in total overseas and the last nine were in a row...

Actually, can't wait to get back to Canada...just waiting for those pesky daughters to finish primary school...

First got here in 1996.

But spent a year in South America, a year in Europe, a year in San Francisco, and two years in New York all within the last 11 years (half of them in Korea, half out).

Wow, some people have been here that long teaching English. I know of one man who been at it for 9 years straight in Korea. I just wonder how long the English teaching industry is going to boom like it is. I hope for at least 5 more years, becuase it's quite a bit more interesting than beating the pavement in our home countries.

Ah, easy answer to that my friend, over ten years since I first came to Korea. First time leaving Canada too. Good enough explanation?

Also, know a guy who arrived in 1988, most of the time since in Korea. Tiger Beer knows who.
