There was a really bad King Kong remake done in the seventies. It stared Jennifer Lang. There was one scene where the big monkey actually attempts to feel her up. Very corny.

The New Planet of the Apes is pretty crappy too.

I prefer the Umpa Loompas in the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

The Longest Yard, Swept Away, and The Manchurian Candidate were really bad.

Lolita and Psycho, even though not bad, should have known better than try to remake classic films.

I haven't seen every remake (because most suck). The worst I ever saw was Avengers. Loved the TV show, despised the movie. Also, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen went from brilliant comic book to ass-terrible movie. Both have Connery, don't they?

You've got to be fisting me. I found the remake to be 10X better. It went around the rules that made the first one drag, employed great make-up effects, didn't rely on CGI like a lot of the new remakes do.

The first 10 minutes are worth the price of admission alone.

Sarah Polley, Jake Weber, Ving Rhames, the guy who played CJ and the rich *beep* were all memorable characters. Mekhi Pfiefer (sp) fouled it up with the same thug role he always plays, but the Russian wife was a nice touch.

Yeah, I loved the new Dawn of the Dead. When those zombies started running...?! That was some scary shit.
The Punisher with Dolph should have been left to suck on it's own... It got even worse with the next one...

The first Dawn Of The Dead was a social commentary, had great memorable actors, and is just an all-round excellent film. It is beyond horror.

Name me one redeeming feature of the remake and I'll, I'll, well, I'll just ignore whatever you have to say because I can't respect the opinion of anyone that thinks the remake is a good film.

Les Miserables with Uma Thurman. CRAP-TASTIC!

Miami Vice was garbage. But does that count as a remake?

Make-up effects for Andy's close-range shotgun headshot in the gun shop. 'Nuff said.

Personal preference, but I watch zombie movies to be entertained. If I want social commentary, I read Chomsky. Wink

NOt going to see "the hitcher" remake. Saw a trailer for it, and the guy in Rutger Haeurs role just doesn't have it.

Dawn of the Dead II - one of the better remakes, stood on its own. Certainly better than Land of The Dead I. Night of the Living Dead II was so-so.
