The money quotes:

"Kim Man-bok admitted to a parliamentary committee that there were undisclosed terms involved in the deal with the Afghan rebels.

He said the truth would be made public at some point."

"...when asked whether a ransom had been paid, Mr Kim replied: "I can't confirm that. Various things happened and they will be revealed as time passed"

Sigh...

I think it's the most intelligent thing I've seen said on the topic thus far.

Not tuned in to the impact of politics in the world, hmmm? After The Fact is the time of biggest discussion about any event like this. It's a game called 'What's Your Second Guess?' And nobody came out and said right away that a deal was done, so of course everyone knows: A Deal Was Done.

Well, now look, it wasn't terrorism at the time...it was just a friendly gesture to get the right boys into power. The US government was innocent of knowing what they would turn into after gaining it, weren't they...we...wasn't it? Funding terrorism? I think I'm justified in calling it some form of , um, 'People's Altruism'.
