I was looking at the Politics and Economy board at gesomun and for some reason a person had decided to translate this thread into Korean and post it on there. A lot of the people were interested in what King Baeksu had to say, which was this:
Quote:

Ask 10 different Koreans what color the sky is and you will get ten different answers.

Many Koreans do not like to admit that they don't know something so they'll just make stuff up.

For others, their answer will depend on their mood at a particular moment.

And for many more, they may answer according to what they think you want to hear, or to spin a positive image of their country to the foreign visitor, and so on and so forth.

Wait, come to think of it, maybe I'm just talking about Dave's ESL Cafe!

The netijun overreaction is hilarious:

이 백수새끼 뭐라 헛소리 하는 거야? ;;
______________

This guy speculates about King Baeksu's real name: King Baeksu 이 놈 혹시 스캇 버거슨인가? ;;

For those who don't read Korean, basically they are calling King Baeksu a 'nom' and 'saeki'; one dude asked if he shows up to teach class high (from "hemp" lol); the last guy is apparently (unless I'm misreading) trying to justify 10 people giving 10 different answers, as though King Baeksu's hypothetical story were in fact true.

It looks like Baeksusaekkishibalnom had better watch his back.

And as a word of warning to the rest of you drugged-up, crazy Yanks thinking of cutting up, just see what venom awaits you:

양키들이 미쳤나..

This thread of us learning 'useful korean phrases' was also a popular one.

It's nice to see that at least some of them are actually amused at our antics.

They really are the filth of the planet. Perhaps a swift return to the days of the Japanese occupation is in order. Mind you, I'd probably be bitter if I had a 0.5cm p3nis.

Yeah, I know that site. For some reason my threads seem to be popular there...

EDIT: Man, those comments left by the Koreans truly are hilarious - I dare them to say them to our faces! I DARE them!

In all fairness, though, KB is to that site the way JAD/LaVuda is to this site.... well, except that KB is more correct in a classical western way....

Are you one of those delusional "oh my god, those polite Japanese are such god-send angels" Japanophiles? Laughing Speaking of venomous and irrational online posting, check 2CH and come back if you think they are any slightly better. 2CH is the biggest Japanese forum site.

It's quite funny that you often see these Gesomoon users comparing their lowness to 2CH Japanese. Laughing

2CH isn't that bad. Of course you get a few idiots posting hate on such a large forum, but it's not so overwhelming. That kind of netizen 'culture' is just not as prevalent in Japan (not to mention easier to ignore), and you sure don't get the kind of cross-over freaks posting all over the place, like some Koreans and Chinese (like even trolling on Daves)...

A few idiots. Are you sure? I have to wonder how you define "a few" indeed. It greatly depends on which 板(board) you look at, of course. There is not much hate on, for example, thePC等 boards. Now if you look at the boards under 世界情勢 (current events in the world) category...

Btw, I additionally found this about King Baeksu from the gesomoon thread Qinella gave.

Quote:

Translation:

"After having been dumped by an ambitious Korean girlfriend, it seems Scott Burgeson began writing only articles like junky rap lyrics. I could find no insight or observation but gushing of his own violent emotions. I used to feel nothing before.. but as I read his book, it looks he has become a contradictory writer who has cultural imperialistic attitude but can't admit it. If he sees this, he will b!tch me that I'm a self-righteous Korean who cannot take criticisms lol"

For those who are not familiar with the dark side of the K-netizenry, I should say these folks are generally mean to everyone. Just from this thread, some may characterize them as only xenophobic losers just targeting foreigners but on different topics, you will see them just as harshly bashing other Koreans.

First of all, godamn bro, your English is getting off the chain. Compared to last year's postings, this is far better. Keep it up.

Second, I had never heard of this Scott Burgeson before looking it up after reading the same post you quoted above. If you look at his site, there are a few Koreans who have praised his work there. I've personally never read any of it, so have no opinion.

I'm glad to hear you say that as you've seen me for a while. These days I try to read books or articles about diverse topics besides my thick engineering textbooks. And posting on internet forums like this helps! Very Happy Hope your Korean's gotten better. It was pretty good last time I read what you wrote anyway. Smile
