Is "let alone eliminate" in the following sentence correct? (I think it should be "let alone eliminating")
--- the following ----
However, ordinary Americans use idioms so frequently and unconsciously that they are difficult to recognize - let alone eliminate from the vocabulary. |

"eliminate" is correct.
'subconsciously' not "unconsciously". |

"Unconsciously" is fine here; it just means "without knowing."
It has to be "eliminate" because the verb form must match the tense of "recognize."  _________________ wintersweet
