Which do you often use (1)"What day of the week is it today?" or (2) "What day is it today?" or (3) "What is the date?"

If you're not sure what day it is you could say:
What day is it?
What day is it today?
If you're not sure what the date is you could say:
What's the date?
What's the date today?
