As far as I learn, "Don't mention it" is used to answer "thanks".

But some one says that it can also be used to reply to "sorry".

Could I ask a native whether it is right?

Hmm. I'm not sure whether it sounds good to me or not.

I think "Don't worry about it" is more common, but I could be wrong.
