Is there anyone who could explain for me the following line, quoted from Time Oct 27, 2003 page 24:
"Agents asked interviewees to keep mum about their chats so as not to disclose the government's strategy."

"to keep mum" ==> "to keep silent"

In this case, they are asking people not to talk about what was discussed durring their interview.
