Hello,
1."There wasn't much traffic on the roads."
2."There wasn't much traffic on the road."
3."There wasn't much traffic on a road."
4."There wasn't much traffic in a road."
What is the difference among the above sentences?
Thank you very much. |

1."There wasn't much traffic on the roads." The roads around here were pretty clear of traffic.
2."There wasn't much traffic on the road." The road I took was pretty clear of traffic. Also the same as no. 1.
3."There wasn't much traffic on a road." You wouldn't say this, except maybe as, "There wasn't much traffic on Elm Avenue" or something like that.
4."There wasn't much traffic in a road." You wouldn't say this. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
