"Yoy cannot be too careful when you choose your spouse."
Is it OK to chnge this to "You cannot choose your spouse too carefully."?
Does the second sentence sound odd?
Thank you in advance!

Yes, the second sentence sounds a little odd, and it also can be interpreted to mean 'You should not choose your spouse too carefully.'
The first one could also be interpreted that way, although it is the more standard way of expressing that meaning. (You must be very careful in choosing your spouse.) |
