I saw the phrase "a great liking for music" in my English grammer book and it says an article can be used before gerunds.
Are there any cases where "the" is put just before a gerund?

I'm sure there are many possibilities.
The skiing in Colorado was wonderful last year.
Mary didn't go to the party because she didn't like the drinking.
The acting in the show wasn't so good, but the singing was great. |
