| Do people really say, "I'm here to check in." or "I'd like to check in." at the reception of a hotel? My experience has been that people say, "I have a reservation." or "Do you have a reservation for Mr.X?" What is the most usual way to say this? |

At the hotel, I think it's more common to say something like "I have a reservation." But if someone asked me if I had any problems at my hotel, I might say "Yes. My room wasn't ready and I wasn't able to check in until 7:00." (or "No. I got to the hotel earlier than I'd planned to, but I was able to check in right away.")
When people leave the hotel (and aren't planning to return), they may tell the clerk at the hotel desk that they would like to "check out," though. |

| Thank you and sorry for the delay in saying this. My PC crashed I and lost all kinds of contact data. |

Oh, well, welcome back. And I would say, "I'd like to check in." at a hotel. Then they usually say, "Do you have a reservation?" |
