Does anyone know what THE CURE means by 'sleek as a shriek"?

Dressed up to the eyes
It's a wonderful surprise
to see your shoes and your spirits rise
Throwing out your from
And just smiling at the sound
And as sleek as a shriek
Spinning round and round

I would be very grateful for an explanation.

It doesn't make sense.
A shriek is certainly not sleek.
The only thing you can say for the expression is that sleek rhymes with shriek.
