how to understand " suck-fest" and "chick-flick" here ? thanks !

Suck-fest => It was horrible.
Saying something sucks is a vague way of saying it's bad.

chick-flick => A movie with a lot of romance or plot that lacks action scenes.
It can mean other things about the movie, but it's very vague.
chick is term that refers to a female(usually in a ownership/object type sense).
flick -> movie

Both terms are vague and don't give a lot of reasoning behind an opinion. I wouldn't recommend using them.

I'm guessing this is from an episode of Friends? Smile I like that show too.
