Hello,


1.
I'm not sure about "to give us" in the following sentence: is that correct?

We depend on public broadcasting to give us speedy reports.


2. Is "He looks good." the same in meaning with "He is good-looking."?


3. Is 'book an appointment' correct? Does this have the same meaning with 'make an appointment'?


4. The following are examples.
Is it okay? I'm confused with when to use 'The following are' or 'The followin is'

1. Yes it's correct. You can also say bring us.

2. No it's not the same thing. He is good looking means he is handsome.
He looks good, means he looks well, healthy, smartly dressed, etc., but not, necessarily, handsome.

3. Yes. They mean the same thing.

4. You use the following is when what follows is singular,
and the following are when what follows is plural plural.

e.g. The following is a list of cars we have for sale.
The following are cars we have for sale.
