Last night, I phoned a restaurant to order food. By the time I got to the restaurant the food was there for me to pick up.
Is there a term for it?
Thanks |

I'm not sure what term you are looking for. The food was ready when you got there? |

You could say, "I ordered it to go" or "I ordered it for pick up." |

Our local deli doesn't deliver, but when I call them, I'll say "I'd like to place an order for pick-up." In British English, I believe it is called "take-away". |

I sometimes order Chinese food or pizza to go, or as take-out.
