Hi!
Nose to Nose means very very close... almost close enough for your nose to be touching another person's nose. |

| Could it also mean that the were put in so the same part was together? That is, "nose to nose" instead of "nose to tail." |

Typically nose to nose means proximity... being really close or lined up exactly.
Maybe if you gave me some of the sentence before and after this one I would understand the author's intention better. |
