hi, I'm not so proficient but I think you need to add "to";
"it is important that the rainforest not to be destroyed" _________________ Universal Peace... |

It is correct as is, since it is a use of the subjunctive mood. A few examples:
It is imperative that we all be on time tomorrow.
I insisted that he be rewarded for his bravery.
They demand that the woman make the same money as the man.
