A. hold B. to hold C. holding D. should hold

I think none of the answers is right.
Am i right?

The fans were well behaved, and the game was played without ______.
A. incident B. accident

What is the difference between them?

"To hold" is correct.

An incident is an occurrence that is not a part of the game. An accident is an unintentional incident.

Incident, but not accident - angry fans throw beer bottles onto the playing field, a brawl breaks out in the stands, a fan jumps onto the field and runs toward his favorite player

Incident/accident - an exuberant fan falls from the top tier of seats to the level below, someone trips while walking to the bathroom and breaks his arm, a fan gets hit in the face by a hockey puck
